What is BetterClinic?
BetterClinic is an ambient AI scribe that documents your consultations in real time. It listens to your patient encounters, transcribes the conversation, and generates structured clinical documents — SOAP notes, prescriptions, medical certificates, consultation summaries, and PhilHealth medical abstracts — so you can focus on your patient instead of paperwork.
How do I sign up?Visit betterclinic.ai to create your account and choose a subscription plan. Once your account is active, download the BetterClinic app from the Apple App Store and log in with your credentials.
Do I need any special equipment?
No. BetterClinic works using your iPhone's built-in microphone. Just place your phone on your desk during the consultation. No additional hardware, headsets, or microphones are required.
What languages does BetterClinic support?
BetterClinic supports English, Tagalog, and mixed-language consultations (Taglish). We are actively expanding support for additional Philippine dialects and regional languages.
Do I need to change how I conduct my consultations?
Not at all. BetterClinic listens passively while you conduct your consultation as you normally would. There is no need to speak differently, follow a script, or change your clinical workflow.
Using the App
How do I start a recording?
Open the app, tap "New Consultation," enter or select your patient's name, and tap the record button. BetterClinic will begin recording your consultation. Tap the stop button when the consultation is finished.
How long does it take to generate my documents?
Documents are typically generated within one to two minutes after you stop the recording. You will receive all your clinical documents — summary, SOAP notes, prescription, medical certificate, and differentials — once processing is complete.
What documents does BetterClinic generate?
BetterClinic generates five document types from each consultation: a Consultation Summary, SOAP Notes, a Prescription, a Medical Certificate, and a Differentials view. You can also request a PhilHealth Medical Abstract (CF4) on demand when needed.
Can I edit the generated documents?
Yes. All documents generated by BetterClinic are editable. You can review, modify, add to, or correct any detail before finalizing. BetterClinic generates the first draft — you have full control over the final output.
What if BetterClinic gets something wrong in the notes?
AI-generated documents are drafts that require your professional review. If BetterClinic misinterprets something, you can edit the document directly in the app. We encourage physicians to review all generated documents before using them, as the physician is always the final authority on clinical content.
Can I listen to the original recording after the consultation?
Yes. The audio recording is saved and available for playback within the app. You can listen back to any part of the consultation for reference.
What is the Differentials view?
The Differentials view is an AI-generated analysis of possible differential diagnoses based on your consultation. It is provided as a clinical thinking aid for your reference only. Differentials are intentionally excluded from all medico-legal documents (prescriptions, medical certificates, and medical abstracts) and are never shared with patients or third parties.
How do I generate a PhilHealth Medical Abstract?
The PhilHealth Medical Abstract (CF4-compatible) is generated on demand. Navigate to the consultation record and tap "Generate Abstract." The abstract includes ICD-10 and RVS codes to support your PhilHealth claims.
Patient Consent & Privacy
Do I need to get my patient's consent before recording?
Yes. Before each consultation, you should inform your patient that an AI-powered tool will be recording and processing the consultation to generate clinical documents. We provide a brief verbal disclosure script within the app that you can read to your patient. Consent is voluntary, and refusing consent should not affect the quality of care.
What if my patient refuses to be recorded?
If a patient declines consent, simply do not start the recording. You can proceed with your consultation and take notes manually as you normally would. Refusing consent does not affect the patient's medical care.
Is patient data secure?
Yes. All audio recordings and clinical data are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Data processing occurs on secure cloud servers with industry-standard security safeguards. Only you, as the attending physician, can access your patients' records through BetterClinic.
Where is my data stored and processed?
Audio recordings are processed for transcription on servers in the United States, but the actual audio remain on your device. Clinical documents are generated through AI infrastructure in Singapore and the United States. All data is encrypted and secured in compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act.
Does BetterClinic sell or share patient data?
No. BetterClinic does not sell, rent, or share your personal or patient health information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Data is processed solely for the purpose of generating your clinical documents.
Who can access my patient records?
Only you, as the attending physician, can access your patient records within BetterClinic. Our team does not have access to your clinical data. BetterClinic operates as a data processor — you remain the data controller for all patient health information.
Can patients request access to or deletion of their data?
Yes. Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act, patients have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data. Patients or their representatives can contact us at privacy@betterclinic.ai to exercise these rights, and we will coordinate with you as the attending physician.
Subscription & Billing
How much does BetterClinic cost?
BetterClinic offers three subscription plans, all billed monthly in Philippine Pesos:
Starter — ₱499/month for 30 sessions (₱16.63 per session)
Professional — ₱899/month for 60 sessions (₱14.98 per session)
Practice — ₱3,999/month for 300 sessions (₱13.33 per session)
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account receives 30 free sessions with no credit card required. This gives you a full month to try BetterClinic with your actual patients before committing to a paid plan.
What happens if I use all my sessions before the end of the month?
If you exceed your monthly session allowance, additional sessions are billed at ₱20 per session with no cap. In your first month, we provide a five-session grace period before overage charges apply.
What counts as one session?
One session is one patient consultation recording, regardless of its length. A five-minute follow-up and a thirty-minute initial consultation each count as one session.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can change your plan at any time by visiting betterclinic.ai and accessing the billing portal from your account dashboard.
How do I manage my subscription?
All subscription management — upgrades, downgrades, cancellation, and payment method updates — is handled through your account at betterclinic.ai. The iOS app does not process payments.
Is there a referral program?
Yes. When you refer a colleague to BetterClinic and they sign up, both you and your colleague receive 30 free sessions.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe.
Clinical & Medical Questions
Is BetterClinic a medical device?
No. BetterClinic is a clinical documentation tool, not a diagnostic or clinical decision support system. It documents decisions already made by the physician during the consultation. It does not provide medical advice, suggest treatments, or influence clinical decision-making.
Are the AI-generated documents medico-legally valid?
BetterClinic generates draft clinical documents that become valid once reviewed and approved by you, the attending physician. The physician's review and professional judgment remain the authoritative basis for all clinical documentation. We recommend reviewing every document before use.
How accurate is the transcription?
BetterClinic uses state-of-the-art AI transcription models optimized for medical terminology and Filipino-English conversations. Accuracy is high, but no AI system is perfect. We recommend reviewing the transcript and generated documents for each consultation, particularly for medication names and dosages.
Does BetterClinic support ICD-10 and RVS coding?
Yes. The PhilHealth Medical Abstract includes ICD-10 diagnosis codes and RVS procedure codes mapped to your consultation. These codes are AI-suggested and should be verified by the physician before submission.
Can I use BetterClinic for telehealth consultations?
BetterClinic is currently designed for in-person consultations where the phone is present in the room. Telehealth support is on our roadmap.
Does BetterClinic work with my existing EHR or clinic management system?
BetterClinic is designed to work alongside your existing workflow without requiring any EHR integration or migration. You can export or copy your generated documents into any system you currently use. No setup, no migration, no commitment to a new platform.
Technical & Troubleshooting
What devices are supported?
BetterClinic is currently available on iPhone (iOS). An Android version is on our roadmap.
Do I need an internet connection to use BetterClinic?
You need an internet connection to log in and to process your recordings. The recording itself can work briefly without connectivity, but the AI transcription and document generation require an active internet connection.
What if the app crashes during a recording?
BetterClinic saves your recording locally on your device as it records. If the app closes unexpectedly, your recording is preserved and will be available when you reopen the app.
How can I improve recording quality?
Place your phone on the desk between you and the patient, screen facing up. Avoid covering the microphone. Minimize background noise where possible. BetterClinic's AI is optimized to handle normal clinic environments, but clearer audio produces better transcription.
Why does my subscription show as inactive even though I just paid?
If you recently subscribed or renewed on betterclinic.ai, pull down on the main screen of the app to refresh your subscription status. It may take a few moments for the update to sync.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Visit betterclinic.ai and tap "Forgot Password" on the login page. You will receive a password reset link via email.

To request account deletion, contact us at support@betterclinic.ai. We will process your request in accordance with applicable data privacy laws and medical record retention requirements.
